MEET OUR TRAINERS

Steve Norman is the Director of Studies and Teacher Training for the Cambridge School centres and is in charge of the Cambridge School CELTA courses. He has been teaching EFL in Spain since 1984 and obtained the Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) in 1987. He has had a number of articles published in EFL magazines and has given seminars at conferences all over Spain. Before coming to Spain, he was a secondary school teacher in the UK. His interests include playing the keyboards and guitar and writing the annual Cambridge School pantomime.

Denise Thompson came to Cambridge School four years ago after teaching for many years at International House, Mataró. She is a teacher trainer and main course CELTA tutor and current editor of the school newsletter for teachers. She holds the Cambridge DELTA, International House Young Learners Certificate and an MAEd in Educational Mangement. She has had an article published in the IATEFL Teacher Trainer Newsletter and has given many educational seminars within Cambridge School and in other centres in Catalonia. She enjoys music and film.

PAUL JUTSUM is a senior teacher at Cambridge School, specialising in company classes. He has been a TEFL teacher since 1986 and has the Cambridge Diploma in TEFL. He belongs to the Cambridge School Teacher Training Team, as well as the school's translation department. Before being a TEFL teacher, Paul was a social worker. His interests are walking, drama, and classical music (he plays the piano).

After longish stints in the Middle East and Latin America, Rod Earnscliffe returned to Spain in 2000 to do the DELTA and to start a family (based on the principle of better late than never). Nowadays, in addition to being a general and business English teacher, First Certificate level leader (now retired), seminar giver, UCLES oral examiner and a bit of a family man, Rod somehow still manages to find time (although less than he'd like) for trekking in the mountains of Catalunya.

Alistair Jones is Centre Director of Cambridge School, Granollers, Granollers having previously been Head of Young Learners from 1998 to 2004. He is a teacher trainer and online tutor for Macmillan ELT and has given training sessions for CUP, TESOL Catalonia as well as a 15-hour training course for primary school teachers at ESADE University. He is the co-author of IH Net Languages', English 4 Kids and English 4 Teens online courses, and of Clever Kids, a CD-ROM released by OUP in 2004. He also is the Academic Co-ordinator for British Summer's summer camp programmes. In his free time he likes cooking, reading and collecting Marvel comics.

Enri García is the CELTA Accommodation Officer for Cambridge School and is also responsible for trips abroad for our students. She has worked at Cambridge School since 2000.
