PRIVATE CLASSES

Private classes have many advantages over studying in groups.

The main advantage is that these classes are personalised. The teacher will include activities in the class that you want to practise and he or she will provide topics and themes that are of interest and relevance to you.

Another advantage is that we offer you much more flexibility in the length of your classes and the days and times of your classes than with conventional group classes. Wherever possible, we will provide classes when you want them. The school is open from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday morning from 9.30 to 12.30.

Probably for these reasons, one to one classes are extremely popular with students who have very specific reasons for wanting to study English, which can't be adequately met by the group format, and for people whose lifestyles prevent them from being able to study at the times of groups.

 

Cambridge School has 20 years experience of giving one to one classes. Below are some examples of the kinds of one to one course we have organised in this time.

• Intensive extra practice for students preparing for the First Certificate exam, focussing on the Use of English paper.

• Activities and exercises to supplement English courses in secondary school.

• A programme of studies to improve the pronunciation of an advanced level student with the aim of ensuring maximum comprehensibility in international conferences.

• Courses to focus on speaking and listening communicative ability.

• An intensive course specifically aimed at helping a professional prepare to give a presentation in an international business meeting.

• Very practical and communicative courses to prepare students for foreign holidays covering topics such as in the airport, restaurants, staying in hotels, asking for directions etc.

• Telephone courses to improve students telephone technique in English and to practise maintaining telephone conversations.
