ENGLISH FOR YOUNG LEARNERS

English is essential for the young; it's important for their school exams, for university entry and for their future careers. The more youngsters progress while they are still at school, the bigger the advantages they have later and the less they have to study as adults.

Cambridge School is one of the leading centres for teaching English to young learners in Catalonia. As well as having a great reputation with students and their parents in Granollers, Caldes and Cardedeu and their surrounding areas, the Young Learners Department is a prestigious centre of excellence well known to teaching professionals throughout the Barcelona area.

We offer young learners a wide range of programmes; classes for infants , children and teenagers from October to June, summer intensives for teenagers in July which allow them to advance a whole a school year in 5 weeks, a summer day camp for children, a residential summer camp, study trips abroad and after-school classes in local primary school organised by parent-teacher associations.

All our programmes share the same serious objective of improving children's English through well-prepared, fun classes. Cambridge School students return year after year, not only because they enjoy the lessons, but also because they are conscious of how much they're learning.

Our guarantees of quality

•  All our teachers, without exception, are native English speakers and also fully qualified as teachers of English as a foreign language.

•  One Cambridge school course is equivalent to a school year of English. Children who sign up soon advance beyond the level their year is studying at school.

•  All students aged 8 and above do an entrance test and are placed according to their proficiency and age.

•  Students aged 8 and above do regular exams, tests and assessed written work to evaluate their progress.

•  Students aged 8 and above have weekly homework tasks to consolidate their knowledge of the language.

•  Parents are kept informed of their child's progress and conduct through a termly written report and two programmed face-to-face parent-teacher meetings each year.

•  Students who demonstrate adequate proficiency can, with the Head of Young Learners' consent, jump courses to advance faster.
