OTHER INFORMATION
We offer work from October to June. Once you have worked for Cambridge School during the October - June course, there is a possibility of work in the summer too. The salary is higher than in most other schools but varies according to qualifications and experience.
Teachers may be asked to teach their language to adults or young learners. They may also be asked to teach in companies. You may be offered work in any of our three schools. (see 'The schools')
If we are able to offer you work, you will be required to attend the annual induction course which lasts for 3 or 4 days at the end of September. This is obligatory for all new teachers. You will also be invited to attend a free 3-day course in teaching young learners, which is strongly recommended for all new teachers especially those who have little or no previous experience of teaching younger learners.
At Cambridge School, we believe strongly in the value of continual teacher training and development. As a result, we have a clearly-defined training and development programme, which all teachers are expected to participate in. The programme involves;
Weekly seminars and workshops led by members of our teacher training team.
Regular lesson-planning meetings led by senior teachers.
Regular observations by senior teachers and peers.
All teachers are involved in the training and development system, either as teachers or as trainers. More experienced teachers, after they have been at the school for a year, are usually offered the chance to join our teacher-training team or to become a senior teacher.
