Academic courses 3 to 7 year-olds
Parents of small children who start studying English at Cambridge School at the age of 3, 4 or 5, can feel confident that their children will have an intermediate level of English by their early teens and will be able to do First Certificate by the age of 16.
Our courses for 3 to 7 year-olds are based on the following main objectives:
- Develop a positive attitude towards English providing an enjoyable learning experience. To achieve this, the teachers use songs, stories, audio-visuals, games, puzzles, etc. pedagogically.
- Give the children a basic knowledge of English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation as the main basis for later success with the language.
- Rapidly develop their listening comprehension of English as something natural, as if it were their mother tongue. That is why all instructions given in class are in English from the first day of class.
- All of our teachers are qualified professionals and native speakers. (More information on teachers)
- The number of students allowed per class guarantees small groups with a maximum of 10 students between the ages of 3 and 5, and 12 students for 6 to 7 year-olds.
- The parents are informed about how their son or daughter settles down in the group, their behaviour and progress by means of regular written reports and individual meetings with the teachers twice a year.
- Students who prove to have a higher level can move up levels more quickly with the consent of the Head of Young Learners' Department or the Centre Director.
