Children and Young Learners Cambridge School
Before signing up for a course at Cambridge School, all students from Primary Year 3 upwards should do a written and oral test to determine their level. This means that if a child is good at the language, they can study at Cambridge School at a higher level than at school.
Those students who show excellent progress can go up a level during or at the end of the course. In the same way, students whose progress is slow can repeat a level to successfully reach the next level.
Generally, after an initial consolidation period, children who settle well into the English groups at our centres reach a much higher level than the standard in their school years. For example, a young learner who has been studying with us for several years and who is currently doing Year 7 (1º Eso) at Secondary School could easily be at the same level as a Year 11 GCSE student (4º ESO) at Cambridge School.
Our objective is that our young learners can speed up the language learning process so that they achieve high marks at school and can also go on to take the First Certificate Exam at GCSE level or in Sixth Form.
