Academic courses for Adults
To enrol in an adult group, you need to visit one of our five centres, where you will do a written and spoken level test, which lasts about 30 minutes and tells us what level you have.
We offer 11 levels of English for adults, which go from beginner to proficiency. There are also special conversation courses for students who wish to improve their oral fluency.
Our courses are designed to prepare students for official exams such as First Certificate.
Courses run between September and June as well as in the summer, but you can enrol at any time during the year as long as you are not a beginner.
We have a minimum of 5 and maximum of 15 students per class. The average class has between 8 and 10 students.
If the company the student works for is willing to pay for the classes, we can help them cover the cost of the course thanks to Government subsidies and discounts.
Every adult course lasts more than 100 hours, follows a course book and a programme designed by an experienced senior teacher and approved by the Director of Studies. (For more information about our level system).
In addition to the course book, the student uses a workbook and follows an appropriate film and reader.
Every month the student's progress is evaluated with a writing task and a short test. There are two exams per course which test the student's grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening and writing capacity.
